Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end deployment of the Audit & Assurance learning curriculum across all career levels, including trainees, seniors, managers, senior managers and partners.
- Ensure learning pathways support technical excellence, professional judgment, leadership development, and partner readiness.
- Drive consistency and quality in learning delivery across offices, regions and audit teams.
- Partner closely with Audit Leadership, Talent teams, and Quality/Risk functions to align learning with business and quality priorities.
- Chair or contribute to learning governance forums, ensuring prioritisation, risk management and alignment to firm strategy.
- Oversee the design and rollout of blended learning solutions (classroom, virtual, e-learning, experiential and on-the-job learning).
- Ensure learning materials remain current, practical, and aligned with professional standards (e.g., auditing, ethics, independence, quality management) and the needs of the business.
- Embed audit quality, ethics, independence, and professional scepticism throughout all learning interventions.
- Support internal and external inspections by demonstrating robust learning governance and deployment evidence.
- Develop and manage comprehensive deployment plans, including timelines, audiences, logistics and communications.
- Lead change management efforts associated with new learning initiatives, methodology updates and firm-wide rollouts.
- Monitor adoption, completion, and effectiveness of learning programmes, addressing barriers to uptake where required.
- Define and track key learning metrics (e.g., attendance, completion, feedback, behavioural outcomes).
- Use insights from quality reviews, performance trends and stakeholder feedback to enhance learning solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement of learning design, delivery and deployment approaches.
- Lead and develop a team of learning and deployment professionals (where applicable).
- Manage learning budgets, third-party spend, and resource planning effectively.
- Model strong people leadership, coaching, and inclusion-focused leadership behaviours.
- Support the Deloitte Training Officer in providing strategic direction, leadership and management of the CA(SA)/AGA(SA)/ACCA training programmes for Deloitte South Africa. Implement the SAICA Training Programme as prescribed in the SAICA Training Regulations and the ACCA Training Programme in line with the ACCA Qualification Framework.
- Assist the Deloitte Training Officer in executing their duties as required by Annexure 3 of the SAICA Training Regulations and the ACCA Qualification Framework.
- Manage relationships with SAICA, ACCA, Board Course service providers, and other Training Offices.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on the SAICA CA2025 and ACCA Qualification frameworks, including practical application and evidence of competencies.
- Stay abreast of framework revisions and assess implications for the Training Office.
- Prepare and monitor Training Office Training Plans, updating these as required.
- Investigate and implement external or in-house simulations to meet Training Regulation requirements.
- Coordinate trainee induction, orientation and ongoing development activities.
- Monitor trainee progress through regular assessments reviews and provide feedback sessions where appropriate.
- Identify training gaps and implement development plans aligned to competency requirements.
- Represent Deloitte at framework sub-working committee meetings, providing input on implementation and designing solutions for common challenges.
- Prepare submissions to business leadership and relevant committees.
- Facilitate the SAICA monitoring and moderation visits for training office accreditation.
- Determine review cycle timelines with the Training Officer and HRBPs to ensure compliance with Training Regulations.
- Allocate trainees to registered assessors and grow the pool of assessors.
- Prepare and distribute regular monitoring reports for LORs and PDSs to trainees & managers.
- Monitor the Training Office mailbox, supporting trainees and managers with queries and guidance.
- Develop and send timely communications to all assessment process role-players.
- Oversee training programme results days.
- Mediate disputes between trainees and managers regarding competency exposure and ratings.
- Execute processes and controls, maintaining records as part of the Deloitte Africa ISQM framework.
- Perform recognition of prior learning (RPL) assessments and maintain a central tracking document.
- Support Deloitte’s Academic Trainees, liaising with university line-managers and ensuring proper assessment processes.
- Recommend and implement improvements to the training programme and processes.
- Support the Deloitte Oversight Registered Auditor (ORA) in providing strategic direction, leadership, and management of the Audit Development Programme (ADP) training programme for Deloitte South Africa.
- Assist the ORA in executing their duties as required by the IRBA
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the IRBA competency framework.
- Support the firms’ Registered Candidate Auditor (RCA) throughout the ADP process and requirements of the programme.
- Facilitate the IRBA monitoring and moderation visits for audit firm accreditation.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the organisation and IRBA on all ADP related matters.
